Staying home with the kids during the summer is a blast, and I’m always searching for new and fun activities they haven’t tried yet. That can sometimes be tricky because we’ve done a LOT of fun things over the years, but I’ve found that reinventing well-loved activities is the best way to keep things familiar, yet fascinating.
My latest fun activity puts a new spin on painting! I love seeing my kids paint colorful works of art, and we proudly display them on our playroom gallery wall. In place of paint brushes, I surprised them with other household supplies to use instead. The initial looks on their faces were priceless, but they ended up having an absolute blast dipping each one into the paint and getting creative with their drawings and designs. There are so many things you can use, but I started with these six supplies that were a big hit in our house.
Paint Outside The Box!
I used a muffin tin to separate paint, which helped keep the colors from mixing and made for easier cleanup. We stayed indoors for the fun, but you can easily take this activity outside on a nice, sunny day. We’ll definitely be doing this again soon so we can try other supplies like plastic utensils, bubble wrap, bouncy balls, cotton swabs, and more. Between what I have around the house and what I can find at my local Dollar Tree, the possibilities are endless.
