Teachers, brace yourselves… it’s time to say goodbye to summer and say hello to a new school year! Take a few deep breaths because it’s time to stop diving in the pool and start diving into classroom planning. I know just how bittersweet this feeling is, but I promise you can do it. The best way I get myself motivated and excited for a new year is by planning my classroom decorations. There are so many fun ideas out there and I’m here to help give you a few easy and affordable ones using Dollar Tree’s $1 supplies, of course! This giant building block wall art idea is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and grade school. It’s big, bright, and colorful, so you’re sure to impress all your new students right off the bat. Get this look with only three supplies: plastic table covers, paper plates, and tape. For just a few bucks, you’ll have the coolest new wall on the block.
Fun Tip: Incorporate building blocks into your lesson plan to tie the decoration theme together!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
- Open up a table cover package and apply it directly onto your wall with tape. (Grab a teacher friend to help you set up! This is much easier to align when you have an extra set of hands and eyes.)
- Apply different color table covers next to and below the first one, cutting them to size as you go to create a building block arrangement.
- Once you have your table covers displayed how you want them, use tape to apply rows of paper plates onto each color to mimic building blocks. Be sure to match the plates to each table cover: for example, blue plates should go on blue table covers and so on.
- Stand back and admire your colorful creation!
