Y’all, let me tell you about my love affair with hats. When I was younger, I added a hat to every outfit whenever I could. While I don’t wear them as much now, I still think they are the perfect accessory to jazz up an ensemble. Do you ever see cute pictures of ladies in their beach hats that have writing along the brim? What about fun ball caps with fun designs, especially as the weather warms up? Well, you guessed it, using Dollar Tree hats, you can make your own that are just as cute! From beach trips and bachelorette weekend gifts to spring and summer sporting events and music festivals, you can personalize hats for any occasion. This would even be an awesome birthday party activity station!
Hang on to your hats, people… here’s how it’s done!
This is All You Need:
How to Make ‘Em:
Ball Caps or Trucker Hats
Using the black marker, I drew a floral design, starting from the top of the hat and working my way all around. You could totally add more color to your design, but I loved this simple look that can match any outfit. Draw whatever design you want, making your very own one-of-a-kind hat! I recommend practicing your design on paper before drawing on your hat with a permanent marker. But don’t worry, if you mess up, another hat only costs you a buck. 🙂
Summer Sun Hats
I love wearing sun hats by the pool or at the beach. It just makes me feel fancier, like I’m in a tropical paradise instead of my backyard or the local beach. I love the look of cursive handwriting and thought “Hello Sunshine” was the perfect phrase to fit the entire summer. So, I carefully wrote those words in cursive on the brim of the hat. Of course, you can add any words or phrases that you want! If you’re making hats as gifts for a party or event, you could write each person’s monogram or name for their very own customized accessory.
I stuck with a ball cap and sun hat, but keep in mind, there are plenty of other hat styles you can find at Dollar Tree! Check out the hat selection online now and share your pictures with us on Facebook or Instagram.
