Fun Hoops for DecorationsI don’t know about you, but hula-hooping is not an easy thing for this gal. Some people make it look effortless, swinging it on their hips, legs, and even arms… so cool to watch, but not so easy to do. But, do you know what IS easy to do with fun hoops? Crafting! Yep, you heard me right. There are so many ways to transform $1 fun hoops from Dollar Tree into gorgeous decorations, even elegant enough for weddings and events! I created these two pretty looks with just a few craft supplies.

Faux Floral Wall Décor

This idea was so much easier to create than I expected! These faux floral hoops are gorgeous and can be customized to fit any event theme or color scheme, perfect for wedding ceremonies or receptions.

Grab These Supplies at Dollar Tree:

  • Fun Hoop
  • Faux Flowers
  • 2 Rolls of Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Hoop It Up:

  1. Start by wrapping burlap ribbon around the entire hoop. I used this pretty lace-embellished burlap ribbon!Lace ribbon around fun hoop
  2. Cut off any excess ribbon and glue each end to the fun hoop to hold it securely in place.
  3. Insert your faux flower stems into a section of the wrapped ribbon.Insert Flowers
  4. Arrange the flowers and stems to create the look you want. Add glue to the flower stems as needed for extra security. Insert Flowers

Giant Dream Catcher

Dream catcherI’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure about this giant dream catcher idea at first. I thought it looked a little complicated. Man, was I wrong… it was so easy and fun to make! Make your own for a dreamy addition to weddings and events or baby showers and nurseries.

Stock Up:

  • Fun Hoop
  • 2 Rolls of Ribbon
  • Ribbon
  • Twine
  • Scissors

Start Catchin’ Dreams:

  1. Start by wrapping burlap ribbon around the entire hoop.
  2. Cut off any excess ribbon and glue each end to the fun hoop to hold it securely in place.
  3. Now for the somewhat tricky part — weaving the dream catcher twine. It took me a minute in the beginning to wrap my head around it, but once I got it, the rest was super simple! Take the end of your twine and tie a knot around the fun hoop to create your starting point.Tye a knot at your starting point.
  4. Pull the twine tight and wrap a loop around the burlap a few inches over. From there, pull it tight again and make another loop a few more inches down. Repeat this step all around the hoop until you reach your starting point again.Wrap twine around the hoop
  5. Continue this same pull and loop pattern with the twine, but instead of looping around the fun hoop, you’ll loop around the middle of the next twine section over.Wrap twine around the loop
  6. Continue weaving the twine around until you reach the center of the hoop. I wanted my dream catcher a little more wrapped, so I continued looping the twine over random sections until I achieved the look I wanted.Wrap twine until you reach the center
  7. Once you’ve finished wrapping the twine, tie a knot and cut off any excess twine.
  8. For the final touch, I tied strips of lace ribbon to the bottom of the dream catcher. You could also add feathers, beads, and more to fit your style or event.

Hoop, there it is. Really hope you like these ideas!
