Second Semester Survival KitDiving into second semester is a bit like starting the school year all over again. Getting back into the swing of things after a long holiday break can take some serious energy and motivation! I love giving my fellow teacher friends a simple but sweet Second Semester Survival Kit to help them get through the months until summer break. Fill a basket or storage container with these fun and useful gifts… a perfect way to help teachers get through the second half of the school year!Second Semester Survival

1. Lotion For a Smooth Start

Teachers are hands-on all the time. From organizing the classroom to grading papers, teachers can appreciate a fragrant, soothing hand lotion at the end of a long day… and maybe a glass of wine, too.

2. Animal Crackers for When the Classroom Feels Like a Zoo

Some days can be long, wild, and crazy. Don’t let teachers get hangry! Add a bag of animal crackers as a happy snack reminder that they can survive even the nuttiest days.

3. Hand Sanitizer to Keep You Healthy and Happy

Constant interaction with kids can be a germy job. Believe me, there’s nothing worse than catching a bug from your students. Give your teacher friends a bottle of hand sanitizer to keep handy at their desk and keep germs at bay!

4. Colored Pens to Brighten Your Day

Teachers love adding some color and pizzazz when note taking or grading papers. Colorful handwriting can make not-so-great grades seem not so bad, right?

5. Rubber Bands to Help You Remain Flexible

Large and small rubber bands can be used all around the classroom, from tying together papers to flicking them at the students… just kidding!

6. Energy Shot to Give You That Extra Jolt

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Every teacher is in need of an extra energy boost from time to time to get them through the school day. Whether it’s in the form of coffee or energy shots, don’t forget to include caffeine in your kit. It’s a must!

Check out some of my other teaching tips and ideas and good luck to all the teachers out there trying to survive the second semester!
