I love my summer breaks! It doesn’t get much better than spending time with my kids at the neighborhood pool, watching them do cannonballs, and working on my tan. Yet, as I soak up the summer sun, my mind can’t help but wander to my classroom. I’m already planning out my “Welcome Back to School” bulletin board in my head. Am I the only crazy one or are any of my teacher friends out there like me?
I’m making a trip to Dollar Tree soon to stock up on classroom supplies I’ll need for the school year. I save a ton of money each year by shopping at Dollar Tree instead of pricey teacher supply stores. When I was there recently, I noticed that they have new Teaching Tree® items in stock. If you don’t know what Teaching Tree® is, you’re missing out. It’s is a unique brand of classroom supplies exclusive to Dollar Tree and inspired by teachers, for teachers… after all, we know best!
I plan on adding color to my classroom with Teaching Tree® Display Wall Borders, Educational Posters, and Window Clings. I’m also brainstorming motivational messages (in between trips to the concession stand for water and ice pops) to spell out with Die-Cut Letters, Numbers, and Shapes. When I get my classroom completely decorated, I like to do a little something special for my kids to welcome them back and kick off the year on a positive note. I usually create little welcome bags for my students using cellophane treat bags from Dollar Tree and filling them with colorful erasers, mechanical pencils, and fun stickers. It doesn’t cost much, but the kids really love it and it helps make them feel special.
I’m so glad I still have several weeks before the school year starts to soak up the rays and enjoy time with my family. I’m resting up and getting ready for a new school year, which will be here before we know it. For all my teacher friends out there, be sure to check out Dollar Tree’s selection of back-to-school and classroom supplies on your next shopping trip — or check them out online right now. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer break… you deserve it!
