DIY Rope Blanket BasketYou can never have enough storage items on hand when it comes to organizing your home. Especially when you have multiple kids like I do, the house can get messy quick! I always try to make my storage solutions functional and beautiful enough to place out on display however, a majority of the time the trendy and functional items are outrageously expensive.

The other day I was looking for a decorative basket to store my blankets and found the size I needed and the style I wanted but it was $15. I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on a basket that was only going to hold blankets. I decided to create my own blanket basket for my living room (can also be used for bedrooms, closets, or wherever else you need it) to hold my extra throws in a stylish way. I grabbed an ordinary laundry basket from Dollar Tree and a spool of rope. I wrapped the outer surface of the basket in rope, securing it with dots of hot glue, and voila… trendy, affordable, and useful DIY blanket basket complete!

Make your own basket and load it up with your coziest blankets for the perfect addition to any room corner or side table. Neutral and nautical inspired, this basket can blend into any room décor!
