Trendy DIY Farmhouse DecorCalling all crafters! I can’t contain my excitement and have to show you some new crafting items that are available at select Dollar Tree stores… one of them being wood items! Luckily, I live near a Dollar Tree that has a brand new Crafter’s Square® section. This new section includes some of my favorite items such as wood crates. Once I saw them, I had to stock up and do some crafting. I decided to go with two different themes.

My first theme I decided to create for my bedroom and went with a darker brown wooden look. I decided to stagger the crate boxes and have them hold picture frames, lights, and candles. For my second look, I wanted to go for a more sleek farmhouse appearance. I decided to create a crate riser to hold various décor items and display it in my kitchen. I figured I could always trade out my décor items for fruits and veggies too (once I finally go grocery shopping ;)).

Check out below to see how I created these two trendy farmhouse décor ideas below!

Here’s How You Do It!

  1. I started off by arranging my crates in the position that I wanted to display them in. Trendy DIY Farmhouse Decor
  2. Next, I hot glued the sides of the crates in the arrangement that I had placed them.
  3. I let the hot glue dry for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Once the hot glue was dry, I took brown paint and watered it down by dipping my paintbrush in the brown paint and then in water. I then started applying my brown watered-down paint to my crates until they turned a nice rustic brown color.
  5. Let the paint dry overnight and once it is dry feel free to hang or display and arrangement various décor elements in the crates!Trendy DIY Farmhouse Decor

Time to DIY Some Risers!

  1. First, I picked out which crates I was going to use.
  2. Next, I hot glued the crates together so that they formed a riser and let the glue dry for at least 30 minutes.Trendy DIY Farmhouse Decor
  3. Once the hot glue was dry, I took white paint and painted my crates. While the white paint was still wet, I took gray paint and make a few accent marks to give it a rustic look.
  4. Let the paint dry overnight and once it is dry feel free to hang or display and arrangement various décor elements in the crates!Trendy DIY Farmhouse Decor
